Workouts on The BodyCoach App

The Body Coach app workouts combine the best of hiit and strength training. Combining the two forms of training is considered to be one of the most effective ways to build fitness, burn fat and improve strength in short periods of time. (Do we want to ref/source individual benefits?)

What is HIIT? ⏳πŸ₯΅

HIIT stands for high-intensity interval training. It's a way of training that combines quick, intense bursts of exercise, where you're working out as hard as you can, with short periods of recovery. Getting your heart rate up to a level you can't sustain for long allows you to burn more fat in less time, making it an especially effective workout for those with a busy schedule.

We have an amazing range of HIIT workouts on the app. From Intermediate cycle 2 onwards weights (dumbbells and kettlebells) are introduced to up the intensity too. Adding extra resistance to your HIIT workouts will also help you to progressively overload those muscles, and help you to build more lean muscle mass.

The workouts are challenging and programmed to push you. If you ever feel you want that extra push though, you can always increase your work rate, time or reduce the rest time. HIIT can never be too easy! πŸ‘€

What is strength training? πŸ‹πŸ½β€β™‚οΈ

Strength workouts are designed to help you build strong, lean muscles. Resistance is applied using weights, resistance bands or your own body weight.

Your heartrate may not be as high, but it's still an intense workout that will get the blood pumping and endorphins flying. Strength workouts don't have to be long either, supersets and circuits make for super efficient sessions.

There are so many benefits to strength training, including increase functional ability, greater endurance, improve bone health and lower risk of injury.

Like HIIT training workouts, we have a great range of strength workouts on the app. We also build strength movements into our HIIT workouts, to add that extra spice and get that heart rate even higher. As you progress through the app dumbbells, kettlebells and bands are used too to add that extra heat.

All of the workouts are lead by our trainers, they motivate you and coach your form to ensure that you're lifting safely and effectively.

We have a number of strength based challenges on the app, including Joe's amazing 'Strength Week' or take a leap and give India's 'Hell Week' a go!

Getting the mix right ☺️

Getting the mix of training right is important. We would recommend a mixture of the two across your week of training. This will enable you to keep building and progressing both your fitness levels and developing your lean muscle mass.

Strength training will help you to reduce the risk of injury too, which is super important when regularly HIIT training too. It's also nice to keep your training varied, which will help you to maintain motivation!
